How to Draw the Outline

Hello guys, here is a tutorial of how you can creat stencil outlines for the kanji files wchich you can download from our website.
There are many ways to do that, but I hope this helps you or at least give you an idea of how you can do it.
On my tutorial, you are required two softwares.
Adobe Photoshop Elements US$79.99 and 123 PDF to Image (FREE)
There is a free 30 days trial for Adobe Photoshop Elements where you can download from here.
Okay, let’s get started.
STEP ONE: Convert PDF to JPG
Download and install 123 PDF to Image. The free version would work.
- Add the kanji pdf file
- Type the page number you wish to convert
- If you want to print it out, set 300dpi or more
- Choose the destination folder and press Export
STEP TWO: Draw the Outline with Photoshop
Now you have the JPG file. Open the file with photoshop and go Filter -> Stylize -> Glowing Edges
There should be three slidebars (Edge Width, Edge Brightness, Smoothness). Adjust the bars and get the best result you want.
STEP THREE: Invert the Image and Save
After applying the Glowing Edges, you should have a black image. Press Ctrl+I (windows) to Invert the image. Now you have the outline. Save your image and you are done!
NOTE: Adobe Photoshop (Elements) can also load PDF files but it depends on which version you are using. If you cannot open the PDF file with photoshop, then you should try 123 PDF to Image software.
